Poltair Press
We are delighted to share with you Poltair Press – our newly created student newspaper.
This publication has been designed and written by our talented students, who have worked hard to bring you the latest news, stories, and features from across our school community. We hope you enjoy reading their work as much as they have enjoyed creating it.
Meet the Team
Isla:
Hello, I am Isla, and I am in Year 8. I enjoy doing water sports and archery. I love reading and am also a reading ambassador. I love Science and Maths and want to do it as a job in the future.
Myya:
Hi! I’m Myya! I'm in Year 9 and a proud Reading Ambassador. I have four horses – I've been riding since I was three – and I’m a big advocate for epilepsy (many of you will remember Purple Day).
Kyle:
I have always enjoyed writing. As a child, if I wasn’t outside or drawing, I would be writing short stories. Also as a young child, up to about the age of 11, I did competition-style karate at Doriaku Ryu, achieving four medals. Now, I’m pursuing a career in MMA. I hope to compete in the UFC one day. However, since I also play rugby for school and St Austell, I would love to play for England one day too. Writing is a way of expressing myself without speech – you can visualise what you want to say and expand on it. If you cannot find me on the pitch or in the cage, I’ll be writing, and I hope to see you there too.
Grace:
My name is Grace, and I am a Year 10 reading ambassador. I love volunteering around school and thrive on helping educate others around me.
Leah:
My name is Leah, and I write the sports news for Poltair Press. My hobbies include cross-country and road running, which I compete in at county and national levels. I also love swimming and cycling.
