Last weekend saw the first overnight Art trip to London. We had two days full of gallery visits and an evening at the theatre.

We arrived in London in the sunshine and immediately visited The British Museum where we discovered mummies, the Rosetta stone and the Portland Vase. The pupils were overwhelmed by the numbers of tourists and visitors. We walked to Pizza Express where we enjoyed our evening meal. A short walk through Bloomsbury to the Covent Garden theatre where we would see The Woman In Black. The pupils found this production to be very scary and there was a lot of shrieking and screaming in the right places.

Following breakfast we visited Tate Britain where we appreciated a range of work from the 1700s to 1900. A short visit to Leicester Square for lunch and then on to the National Portrait Gallery. We left London in good time and had a very happy and musical journey home.
