Poltair girls rugby team 2nd in east Cornwall

On Wednesday 23rd March the year 10 Girls Rugby Team travelled to Liskeard School to compete in the East Cornwall School's Rugby Competition. The day consisted of some coaching in the morning delivered by RFU coaches followed by the games in the afternoon. The team was led by Lauren Budge as captain for the day who also scored a number of tries, heavily supported by Kat Wherry who scored a fantastic 6 tries! Not forgetting the other try scorers on the day: Holly Courtney, Chloe Oliver and Corinne Rockey. This wouldn't have been possible without the support from the whole team who put in some truly remarkable tackles and only lost one game in the entire day. To choose the player of the match is a hard choice to make but it has to go to Holly Courtney. Holly made some try saving tackles and carried the ball well into contact, so a huge congratulations there. The Poltair Girls finished second overall in the whole of East Cornwall and other schools admired their tenacity and determination displayed from start to finish. Well done to all those involved.
