We are excited to announce that on Friday 28 November, eight Year 7 students will be travelling to Tavistock Community College, in order to take part in a national reading competition - The Kids' Lit Quiz. This is a widely recognised competition which celebrates and rewards reading. Led by a quiz master from New Zealand, teams of four students (Years 7 & 8) from selected schools, work together to answer 100 wide-ranging book related questions, arranged under ten categories. There are 18 regional heats altogether, followed by a national final in Wembley, London. The West Country heat is to be held at Tavistock Community College.

In preparation for this popular event, students have been reading as broadly and as frequently as they can, to increase their literary store. In tandem with this independent effort, lunchtime gatherings (with scrumptious cookies!) have also taken place. Good luck to the students taking part: Team 1 - Katie Stuart (JHK), Georgia Stuart (JHK), Lydia Ellis (SAH), Chelsea Hersey (JHK) Team 2 -Bethany Burt (MG), Jessica Frost (SAH), Arlan Rossin (SAH), Niamh Stephen (MG).
