Poltair's budding young musicians were able to showcase their talents at the school's annual Summer Music Concert on Thursday. Some of the recent finalists from the Poltair's Got Talent competition performed alongside a range of GCSE Music students who showed off their musical progress since the start of the course.

Chris Hatt teacher of Music at Poltair explained: 'This concert has given some of our Year 9 students their first taste of public performance and they have excelled. For others who are more experienced musicians they have been able to show to parents and friends the progress they have made in the last 12 months, either on a second or third instrument of their choice or by playing in an ensemble setting.'

The concert finished with a mixed staff/student band playing a favourite song of the head teacher Stephen Tong by the Waterboys which had everyone foot-tapping along to the tune.
