The Parliament Education Service recently ran a workshop with Year 10 GCSE History students. The session was based around Your Voice (Debating) & Making Laws. Miss Venn Head of History was pleased with pupil's ability to strongly express their views and they felt confident in asking challenging questions too! It was an ideal opportunity for some of our more able pupils to get involved in debate which helps to prepare them for the thinking and discussion skills needed at A level. The session concluded with the chance to work in small groups to devise a 'new law' of their own. Our thanks go to Russell Lawrance Director of A Levels at Cornwall College St Austell for arranging the session.
