On Friday we suspended normal lessons so that each year group could take part in learning activities in different settings. Year 7 worked in teams to run catering companies using their Maths and Enterprise skills. Year 8 visited Falmouth where they were able to develop their knowledge in the Humanities subjects with visits to the Maritime Museum, the Aquarium and All Saints Church. Year 9 pupils tasted college life by experiencing a range of courses at Cornwall College St Austell. Meanwhile, back in school, Year 10 enjoyed an informative day looking at a range of issues linked to Personal, Social and Health Education. They were supported by a number of outside agencies and experts including Share, Help for Heroes and Cornwall Hospice Care.
Year 11 students readied themselves for the transition to post-16 learning and training by completing their CV and College application form as well as hearing about the career experiences of local professionals, represented by the members of the local Rotary Club.(pictured).
